Necessary but not sufficient vs X alone is not enough

How to choose: Do you need to say that X is required, or only that X cannot justify the conclusion by itself?

Core distinction

Use CLF041 when X is genuinely required for Y but cannot guarantee Y. Use CLF042 when you only need to reject an overconfident conclusion based on X; it does not claim that X is necessary.
